Five Little Bunnies - Poem

One little bunny,
Wondering what to do,
another bunny came along,
Then there were two.

Two little bunnies,
Hopping like me,
Another bunny came along,
Then there were three.

Three little bunnies,
Jumping by my door,
Another bunny joined them,
Then there were four.

Four little bunnies,
So fluffy and alive,
Another bunny joined them,
Then there were five.

Five little bunnies,
Ready for some fun,
Hopped away in the
Warm, spring sun.

These Two Rabbits

These two rabbits (hold up thumbs)
Have ears so tall. (hands above head)
These two rabbits (first fingers)
Have eyes so small. (point to eyes)
These two rabbits (second fingers)
Have whiskers that wiggle. (five fingers on each hand extended, against face for whiskers)
These two rabbits (third fingers)
Have noses that wriggle. (point to nose)
These two rabbits are the smallest of all (small fingers)
Curl up tightly in a round furry ball. (fold hands together)

~Submitted by Julie, Apple Orchard Family Childcare

I got this idea from the ideabox website and my kids have just had a ball doing it ever since...

(Have the children lay down pretending to be asleep to start)
All the little bunnies fast asleep
All the little bunnies not a peep.
If I should sing my song today
Will all the bunnies get up to play?
(sing...any tune)
Get up little bunnies (the children jump up and hop around)
Hop, hop hopping
Get up little bunnies
Hop, hop hopping
Get up little bunnies
Hop and STOP! (they stop and of course they want to lay down and do it again, and again and again..)

Joe The Bunny - sung to "I'm a Little Teapot"

I'm a little bunny, my name is Joe.
(hold up two fingers)
I hop fast and I hop slow.
(hop fingers around fast and slow)
Whenever I get sleepy, my ears droop low,
(bend fingers down)
But after my nap, up they go!
(hold fingers straight up)

This Is The Way We Dye Our Eggs

This is the way we dye our eggs
dye our eggs, dye our eggs
This is the way we dye our eggs
So early Easter morning.

Other verses:
This is the way we hide our eggs...
This is the way we eat our eggs...

The Night Before Easter

Twas the night before Easter and all through the woods,
The bunnies were busy packing their goods.
The eggs were all colored so pretty and bright,
All things were "go" for the big, special night.
The baskets were waiting, all decorated with care,
In hopes that the Bunny soon would be there.
My little brother Sam was asleep in his bed,
While visions of Easter eggs rolled round his head.
And I in my pajamas with the cat on my lap,
I had just settled down for a quick little nap.
When outside the window I heard a great noise,
I sprang from my chair and jumped over some toys.
As quick as a flash to the window I flew,
I pulled up the shade and , OH, what a view.
The moon on the meadow cast a bright golden glow
And the wind blew the flowers to and then fro.
Then all of a sudden from out of nowhere,
Came some lively bunnies, hopping here, hopping there!
Leading the group with ears long and funny
Was a plump all-white rabbit...
That's right...the EASTER BUNNY!
The bunnies hopped past, one, two , three, four,
The rabbit called out and then there were more.
"Come Peter! Come, Flopsy! Come, Benny! Come, Joe!
Now hop along! Hop along! Hop along! GO!"
So up on each doorstep the bunnies did hop,
With baskets of eggs. (Let's hope they don't drop)!
Just at that moment, on the porch down below,
Came the stomping of feet 'Twas the rabbit I know!
As I stepped from my window I heard a loud sound.
Through the door came the rabbit with a leap and
a bound. He was furry and soft from his head to his feet.
To see him so close was really quite neat.

The bunny on the field goes hop, hop, hop
Hop, hop, hop,- hop, hop, hop
The bunny on the field goes hop, hop, hop
Hopping on Easter day.

Poem

Blue egg, blue egg,
Oh, what fun.
Blue egg, blue egg,
I found one.

Green egg, green egg,
I see you.
Green egg, green egg,
Now I've two.

Red egg, red egg,
Can you see?
Red egg, red egg,
Now I've three.

Yellow egg, yellow egg,
Just one more.
Yellow egg, yellow egg,
Now I've four.

Easter poem

Eggs come in many sizes.
Eggs hold some big surprises,
Speckled, brown, white, or blue.
Eggs hold babies that are new.
Chicks from eggs are fluffy yellow,
Chicks from eggs are funny fellows!

Peter Cottontail

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hopping down the bunny trail
Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's on its way.

Bringin' every girl and boy
Baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay.

He's got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
There's an orchid for your Mommy
And an Easter bonnet, too.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop, and listen to him say:

"Try to do the things you should."
Maybe if you're extra good,
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

You'll wake up on Easter morning
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those choc'late bunnies
That he's hiding ev'rywhere.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.

I'm A Little Bunny (Sung to "I'm A Little Teapot")

I'm a little bunny with a cotton tail,
See me hop down the bunny trail.
(Hop down a pretend lane.)
When I spy a carrot, my ears they shake,
(Put hands up behind head and shake them.)
Then, of course, a bite I take. "Crunch!"
(Pretend to bite carrot.)
